Military Service Consumer Corporation

The Military Service Consumer Corporation was established in 1973, as a unit that carries the flag of the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces.

Stages of the Corporation Formation

(1) In the mid-fifties, the Soldier Canteen was established, whose balances were from circulated balances of the British mandate forces, after they left the country.

(2) In 1967, the Soldier Canteen included: 

A. Administration Group (Accounting section, Commercial branch, clerk’s office).

B. Five branches in the East Bank and three in the West Bank, a family canteen at Zarqa military camp and another at King Talal (Marka) military camp, as well as soft drink factories in both Zarqa’a and Ma'an.

(3) In 1967, West Bank branches were dissolved.

(4) In 1967, three warehouses (1, 2, 3) have been established in the Khaw area. 

(5) In 1967, Amman and Zarqa’a Markets were opened.

(6) In 1973, the commercial markets were merged with Soldier Canteen.

 (7) In 1973, the regulation of the Military Service Consumer Corporation was approved under the regulation No. (120).

(8) In 1974, the Military Service Consumer Corporation was relocated from Zarqa’a to Amman. 

 (9) In 1978, the Military Service Consumer Corporation was relocated to Al Lweibdeh area.

(10) In 1989, the Military Service Consumer Corporation was linked to the Assistant Chief of Staff for Administrative affairs.

 (11) In 15/1/2003, the Soldier Canteen was cancelled in the Armed Forces’ formations.

 (12) In 2004, the Military Service Consumer Corporation was relocated to a building belongs to the Jordan Armed Forces in Tabarbour area.

(13) In 2008, the Directorate of Military Service Consumer Corporation was linked with the Chief of Staff of Defense Resources. 

(14) In 2014, a study was carried out to amend the budget of the Directorate of Military Service Consumer Corporation, and was presented to the Military Permanent Committee and approved.

Unit Tasks:

1. Providing and sustaining high quality goods, at the lowest prices, in the Establishment's markets to protect the Jordanian citizen from monopoly.

2. Supplementing, assisting and supporting the Associations of Military Retirees, and providing high quality goods to these associations at the lowest prices.

3. Supporting the Jordan Armed Forces and providing all its needs in terms of food and tools.

4. Contribute to the reduction of unemployment by continuously absorbing employees.

5. It constitutes an important system in the field of food security at the State level.
