Since its inception in 1941, the Hashemite Leadership has insisted that the Royal Medical Services offer healthcare services to all citizens, whether military or civilian. Since that date, the Royal Medical Services grown both horizontally and vertically, and now provides comprehensive healthcare services to about 38% of the Kingdom's population, through Al-Hussein Medical City with its five Centers, as well as military hospitals that cover most of the Kingdom's Governorates. It is worth mentioning that children under the age of (18) make up about 50% of the beneficiaries of healthcare services provided by the Royal Medical Services. The Royal Medical Services occupy a prominent position among the units of the Jordan Armed Forces and among the sectors of the Jordanian health system, through the followings: • Maintaining the health of officers, non-commissioned officers and members of the armed forces and security services in all circumstances and times, through a comprehensive health insurance for about 1.5 million residents of theKingdom, including subscribers and beneficiaries of officers and members of the Jordan Armed Forces and various security services. Continuous medical supervision of the students at Military Culture’s schools, and the preservation of public health for them. Preventive medical care for all military and security sectors, and maintaining the safety of the work environment for all members of the Armed Forces. Providing curative medical services in hospitals to all citizens residing in Tafileh and Aqaba Governorates. In the event of disasters or mass accidents, playing the lead and primary role, including transferring the injured by land and air. Comprehensive medical coverage of all Arab and international conferences, meetings and festivals held in the Kingdom. Treatment of complex medical cases that require highly specialized treatment and referrals from other hospitals (Ministry of Health, University Hospital of Jordan and the private sector), as well as referrals at the expense of Public Expenses and the Royal Court. Treating patients referred from brotherly Arab countries, within agreements or at their own expense. Continuing medical education and the development of technical and training levels for doctors and supporting medical professions. Participation in the teaching and training of medical college students at all Jordanian universities. Training resident doctors and specialists in all general and sub-specialties from the Kingdom, as well as brotherly and friendly countries. Providing the medical sector in the Kingdom with qualified and trained technical cadres, with high skills in all medical majors. Sending special medical teams in cases of disasters and conflicts (Iraq, Yemen, Turkey, Albania, Iran, Maldives, Indonesia, Pakistan, Lebanon). • Equipping and opening special field hospitals and field stations for some brotherly and friendly countries (Iraq, Jenin, Ramallah, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Gaza ....). • Participation in peacekeeping forces and humanitarian missions, and sending medical battalions and hospitals of the second and third levels: - (Croatia, Slovenia, Tajikistan, Kosovo, East Timor, Sierra Leone, Eritrea/Ethiopia, Liberia, Burundi, Haiti, Ivory Coast, Congo). Opening military field hospitals to provide specialized medical treatment services successively to treat the people of remote areas, that are not served by the public health sector in the Eastern Badia (Al-Manara area, Deir al-Kahf, Azraq, Sabha and Subhiya, Mughir al-Sarhan, Hamra cross, Zaatari cross, Al-Ba’aj and Al-Salihiya area), and in Southern Badia (Qurayqra, Al-Rajif, Al-Disi, Al-Jarba, Al-Jafr, Eyl, Bir Mazkour and Al-Rishah District).
