At dawn today, Saturday, the Eastern Military Region foiled four attempts to smuggle large quantities of narcotics on its frontier within its area of responsibility.

The drugs were being transported using balloons guided by improvised devices. 

The attempts were intercepted, and the balloons along with their cargo were brought down within Jordanian territory after being detected at various locations by the Border Guard forces in coordination with the security agencies and the Drug Enforcement Department. 

The seized items were handed over to the competent authorities for necessary action.
