In implementation of the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, Supreme Commander, to raise the capabilities and readiness of the armed forces in all fields, the activities of the joint exercise “Desert Storm” concluded yesterday in one of the designated fields, with the participation of the armed forces and the American and British sides.The exercise, which goes through several stages, aims at operational and tactical alignment between the participating forces, integrating the firepower of the ground and air forces, to simulate work in a high-risk operational environment, and to achieve operational goals quickly and with minimal risks to the ground forces.The exercise included the use of modern technology with satellite-guided munitions, lasers and high-precision projectiles, with the participation of units from the Royal Artillery Force, the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Brigade, and F16s of the Royal Jordanian Air Force and F15s of the US Air Force.This exercise comes to simulate the operational dilemmas facing the armies of the world at the present time, and to obtain results immediately after the ground and air strikes, during the war, and accordingly the strikes are repeated or move to the next stage.At the end of the exercise, which was attended by a number of senior officers of the armed forces, the attendees praised the high morale, distinguished level, efficiency and professionalism demonstrated by the participants in carrying out the exercise.
