Today, Sunday, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Hunayti, met at the General Command Lieutenant General Pilot Hiroaki Uchikura, Chief of Staff of Japan’s Self-Defense Forces, along with his accompanying delegation.The guest was honored with a military reception, during which the assembled honor guard rendered a ceremonial salute.The two sides discussed prospects for military cooperation between the armed forces of the two friendly countries, particularly in the areas of training and experience exchange, in addition to reviewing several regional and international issues of mutual interest.Major General Al-Hunayti and the visiting delegation were briefed on military operations and humanitarian efforts undertaken by the Jordan Armed Forces across various fields, including their role in supporting the people of Gaza by delivering relief, medical, and food assistance, as well as the Armed Forces’ efforts in strengthening regional security.The briefings also covered training cooperation programs between the two armies and ways to develop them through joint exercises and specialized courses, enhancing operational readiness and expanding opportunities for knowledge and experience exchange between both sides.The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff emphasized the depth of bilateral relations between Jordan and Japan, noting that the defense partnership serves as a model for developing joint capabilities and supporting international efforts to promote security and stability.For his part, Lieutenant General Uchikura expressed his appreciation for the role of the Jordan Armed Forces in supporting regional security and providing humanitarian assistance, affirming Japan’s commitment to continue strengthening military cooperation in training and knowledge exchange.At the conclusion of the visit, attended by senior officers of the Jordan Armed Forces and the Japanese Defense Attaché in Amman, the Chief of Staff of Japan’s Self-Defense Forces signed the guest book for distinguished visitors.
