JAF signed a MoU on Monday with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to strengthen cooperation in the fields of sustainable development and environmental protection.The MoU was signed on behalf of JAF by the Director of Logistics Supply, and on behalf of the UNDP by Resident Representative in Jordan, Randa Aboul-Hosn.The memorandum aims to establish a joint framework for adopting environmental sustainability practices within military institutions by enhancing the capabilities of the Ammunition Disposal Center to handle military waste in safe and eco-friendly ways, while also reducing the resulting carbon emissions.The Director of Logistics Supply emphasized that the signing of the MoU aligns with the directives of the General Command of JAF in adopting sustainable development concepts and supporting national efforts to protect the environment. He also highlighted the military’s role in improving the efficient use of natural resources and reducing pollutants.For her part, the UNDP Resident Representative praised the cooperation with JAF, stating that the partnership represents a model for integrating environmental considerations into institutional and military work. She added that the UNDP will continue to provide technical and logistical support for the development of joint projects.The MoU reflects the JAF’s commitment to expanding partnerships with international organizations and leveraging national capabilities to support environmental and developmental efforts, in line with the Hashemite leadership’s directives to enhance international cooperation in the national interest.The signing ceremony was attended by a number of JAF officers.
