Brigadier General Dr. Sahil Al-Hamouri, Director General of the RMS, affirmed that the Jordanian Royal Medical Services, guided by its mission, the directives of the Hashemite leadership, and the close supervision of the General Command of JAF, is committed to providing comprehensive medical support to the armed forces. This includes treatment for military officers, personnel, members of the security services, and their families, in addition to offering high-quality, equitable, safe, and cost-effective healthcare to all beneficiaries. These goals are achieved through highly qualified personnel, modern technologies, and a firm commitment to continuous development, improvement, and optimal resource utilization — all in service of enhancing the overall healthcare system in Jordan.

Dr. Al-Hamouri made these remarks during a lecture delivered today at the Royal Jordanian Command and Staff College, to the participants of the 66th Command and Staff Course / Joint Course 30, which includes officers from Arab and allied countries. The lecture, titled "Royal Medical Services Strategies for Healthcare Delivery in Peace and War," was attended by the Commandant of the College and members of the directing staff.

Al-Hamouri highlighted that the RMS provides medical care to approximately 38% of the Kingdom’s population, and holds a distinguished position among both the units of JAF and the broader Jordanian health system. This includes offering healthcare services to active and retired military personnel, their families, and the provision of essential field medical support under all circumstances.

He emphasized the preventive and curative roles of the RMS, particularly in times of disasters and emergencies, for which the service maintains a comprehensive disaster response plan involving all its personnel, facilities, and equipment. RMS is an integral part of the national disaster response framework, and is the designated authority for disaster-related accreditation and licensing at civil airports in the Kingdom.

Dr. Al-Hamouri also noted the unique capability of the RMS in providing airborne medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) using helicopters from the RJAF. These aircraft are equipped with advanced medical gear and staffed with trained and qualified medical crews, enabling efficient and rapid evacuation operations. Moreover, RMS handles complex medical cases referred from other health sectors and extends hospital-based healthcare services to citizens and residents in governorates that lack Ministry of Health hospitals.

At the end, a broad and insightful discussion took place, during which Dr. Al-Hamouri responded to questions and inquiries from the course participants.
