Medical teams at the Jordanian Field Hospital in southern Gaza have successfully performed a complex surgical procedure on a 60-year-old female patient who had suffered a comminuted fracture of the humerus along with severe damage to the surrounding soft tissue.The Commander of the hospital force stated: "Our highly qualified medical and nursing staff were able to carry out the surgery successfully, as part of our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive healthcare services to our brothers in the Gaza Strip."The hospital's Director explained that the operation was conducted by a specialized surgical team, with the support of anesthesia and operating room technicians, emphasizing that this effort is part of the hospital’s continued delivery of advanced medical care to the people of Gaza.An orthopedic surgeon involved in the procedure detailed the patient’s condition, noting that she had suffered from a severely shattered fracture with segmental bone loss, preventing normal healing, in addition to extensive soft tissue damage."During the surgery, necrotic and contaminated tissues were removed, the anatomical structure of the bone was restored, and internal fixation was achieved using metal plates and screws. Bone grafts were harvested from the pelvis and fibula to fill the gap and support the healing process," he added.The operation was successfully completed. The patient’s family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein, commending the outstanding efforts of the Jordanian Field Hospital staff in alleviating the suffering of Gaza’s residents amidst the difficult circumstances they continue to endure.
