Training facilities dedicated to the female platoon were officially inaugurated today at the headquarters of the Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan / Rapid Reaction Brigade. The ceremony was attended by Brigade Commander Brigadier General Mahmoud Maqdadi, Canadian Defense Attaché in Amman Colonel Robert Foster, as well as several officers from the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army.The establishment of these facilities comes as part of a joint effort between the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Government of Canada, aimed at providing a fully equipped and supportive training environment for the female personnel of the brigade.Brigadier General Maqdadi expressed his appreciation for the Canadian government’s support in constructing and equipping the new facilities, emphasizing that this initiative represents a significant step toward empowering military women and enhancing their role across various operational fields. He reaffirmed the Jordan Armed Forces’ ongoing commitment to strengthening military cooperation with allied and friendly nations in pursuit of shared strategic objectives.In his remarks, Colonel Foster highlighted the deep-rooted partnership between the armed forces of Jordan and Canada, stating that this long-standing collaboration continues to address the professional needs of military women and provides an environment conducive to their empowerment and skill development. He affirmed Canada’s continued operational and logistical support to JAF.The newly constructed building includes administrative offices, classrooms, and a parade ground designed to the highest engineering standards, creating an effective and comfortable training environment that enhances the operational readiness and performance of the female platoon.
