An officer at the General Command of JAF announced that, in coordination with security agencies, the Southern Military Zone successfully thwarted an attempted drug smuggling operation early Sunday morning involving two unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) along its western front, within its area of responsibility. The officer stated that Border Guard forces in the Southern Military Zone implemented rules of engagement after detecting and tracking the two drones. The UAVs were intercepted and brought down inside Jordanian territory, and the seized contraband was handed over to the relevant authorities. He emphasized that JAF remain resolute and vigilant in preventing the infiltration of narcotics into the Kingdom, and reaffirmed the Southern Military Zone’s commitment to safeguarding national security and protecting citizens from the dangers posed by such illicit activities.
