British Embassy Hosts Reception for Officers and NCOs of JAF and security services

On Monday, the British Embassy in Amman hosted a reception at the Ambassador’s residence for a number of officers and non-commissioned officers from the Jordanian Armed Forces and security agencies. The event was held in the presence of Major General Nicholas Cowley, Commandant of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, who is currently visiting Jordan.

The reception reflects the deep-rooted partnership between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the United Kingdom across various fields, in pursuit of the shared strategic visions and objectives of the leaderships of both friendly nations.

British Ambassador to Jordan, Philip Hall, praised the significant role played by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, in promoting security and stability in the region. He specifically highlighted the close cooperation between the two friendly nations in delivering urgent humanitarian aid to Gaza, through coordinated airdrops and the air bridge, which showcased the professionalism of the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army and their allied counterparts.

Ambassador Hall noted that the relationship between the United Kingdom and Jordan spans many decades and is distinguished by its historical depth and strong cooperation across various sectors.

For his part, the Commander of the Royal Jordanian Air Force emphasized the strength and depth of the strategic and historical partnership between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the United Kingdom, noting that this partnership is reflected across multiple sectors—particularly the military and security domains.

He explained that cooperation between the two countries includes advanced joint training programs and the exchange of military and technical expertise, in addition to mutual collaboration in areas of technical and technological development, all of which contribute to enhancing the capabilities of the armed forces in both nations.

For his part, the Commandant of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, Major General Nicholas Cowley, emphasized the importance of maintaining and advancing the joint training programs conducted between the two sides, in a way that fulfills their intended objectives. He also highlighted the value of joint military exercises in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the armed forces of both friendly countries.

The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is considered a strategic partner of the United Kingdom in the Middle East. This partnership stands as a model for bilateral international relations, built on shared interests and common visions in the face of the regional and global security challenges confronting both nations.
