The Gender Expert Qualifier course was inaugurated today, Sunday, at the Jordan Armed Forces Hotel, in cooperation with the Republic of Austria, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and UN Women Jordan. The event was held in the presence of the Assistant for Personnel and Administration Affairs.

The Director of Military Women’s Affairs highlighted that Jordanian military women have received unwavering support since the era of His Majesty the late King Hussein bin Talal, a commitment that has continued under His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein. She noted that the Directorate of Military Women’s Affairs was the first institution to launch a Gender Integration Strategy, serving as a roadmap to achieving the goals of Jordan’s First and Second National Action Plans for implementing UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace, and Security.

The five-day course aims to qualify gender experts capable of integrating gender perspectives across military and operational domains.

The course brings together participants from JAF, security agencies, and representatives from Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Oman, and Canada. Topics under discussion include gender mainstreaming and the empowerment of women in military contexts.
