The Southern Military Zone thwarted an attempt to smuggle large quantities of narcotics early Monday morning on its western frontier within its area of responsibility, by two drones.An officer in the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces said: "Border Guard forces in the Southern Military Region, in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, thwarted a smuggling attempt involving two drones attempting to cross the border illegally. Engagement rules were applied, and the drones' cargo was downed within Jordanian territory, with the seized items transferred to the relevant authorities."He affirmed that the Jordanian Armed Forces are committed to utilizing their various capabilities and resources to prevent these narcotics from reaching the citizens and affecting national security.
