Yesterday, Monday, the Southern Military Zone thwarted, on its western front within its area of responsibility, an attempt to smuggle a quantity of narcotic substances loaded by a drone.

An officer at the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces - the Arab Army said: "The border guard forces in the southern military zone, in coordination with the military security services and the Anti-Narcotics Department, thwarted a smuggling attempt by a drone that tried to cross the border illegally. The rules of engagement were applied and the drone's payload was dropped inside Jordanian territory, indicating that the seized items were transferred to the competent authorities.

He explained that this operation comes within the framework of dealing with smuggling operations that exploit modern technology, such as drones, to transport narcotics, stressing that the JAF are working with all their strength and determination to harness all capabilities to confront such operations and prevent infiltration and smuggling operations by force to maintain the security and stability of Jordan.
