The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Huneiti, on Thursday met at his office at the General Command the Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Mission in Jordan, Jan Freideh, and the accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed avenues of cooperation and joint coordination between the Jordan Armed Forces and the ICRC, particularly in the fields of humanitarian action, the provision of relief assistance, and the exchange of expertise in international humanitarian law.

Major General Al-Huneiti emphasized the importance of the humanitarian role undertaken by the ICRC in supporting those affected by conflicts and disasters, commending the level of cooperation between the two sides, which contributes to strengthening joint humanitarian efforts in line with the humanitarian values upheld by the Jordan Armed Forces.

For his part, the Head of the ICRC Mission in Jordan expressed his appreciation for the significant efforts exerted by the Jordan Armed Forces in supporting humanitarian and relief activities, affirming the ICRC’s commitment to continuing cooperation and coordination to achieve shared humanitarian objectives.

Several senior officers of the Jordan Armed Forces attended the meeting.
