Today, Thursday, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Hunaiti, attended the course of the "Lion's Leap" tactical exercise, which was carried out by the 1st Royal Guard Mechanized Brigade, one of the formations of the Central Military Zone, in one of the training fields.Major General Al-Hunaiti was breafed by the Commander of the Central Military Zone and the Director of Military Operations, on the progress of the operational, training and logistical matters of the exercise, in addition to the assumptions on which it was built, in line with current threats.The exercise included implementing activities that simulate scenarios witnessed in the operational environment by implementing a defensive battle, in addition to using modern technology, such as drones, information operations and cyber-attacks, with the participation of various branches of the armed forces.The exercise included medium artillery and anti-armor weapons firing, interspersed with engineering destruction, tank and mechanized infantry firing, with support from Royal Air Force aircraft.The exercise aims to test the combat readiness of the participating units’ ranks, their ability to plan and implement decision-making during similar circumstances in traditional and non-traditional operations and potential duties, as well as keeping the formation abreast of new developments in modern battles.At the end of the exercise, army chief met with the participants in the exercise and conveyed to them the greetings and pride of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and his Crown Prince, commended the distinguished level of marksmanship and hitting targets, and the high morale they enjoy.In a related context, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff inspected the second command and control center, affiliated with the Royal Air Force Command, and was received by the Air Force Commander.Major General Al-Hunaiti was briefed on the tasks and duties carried out by the center, which is considered an important starting point for coordinating air operations in the skies of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, due to its advanced technologies, in a way that ensures a rapid response to any potential emergency.Al-Hunaiti stressed the importance of the center in providing the armed forces of all kinds with information and data to improve air and ground operational performance to make appropriate decisions in the face of threats during the current circumstances.Al-Hunaiti met with the center’s personnel, in the presence of several senior officers of the armed forces, and conveyed to them the greetings of His Majesty the Supreme Commander, praising the distinguished level enjoyed by the Royal Jordanian Air Force personnel.It is noteworthy that the center is equipped with various devices and equipment that enable the Royal Air Force to perform its duties and tasks with skill, efficiency and competence, as it has been recently updated and developed in a way that contributes to achieving the mission of the armed forces to defend the security and stability of the Kingdom.
