Yesterday, Wednesday, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Hunaiti, patronized the celebration held by the artillery of the Eastern Military Region on the occasion of the golden jubilee of the region’s artillery command (50 years) and the diamond jubilee of the First Royal Artillery Battalion (75 years) in the presence of the Commander of the Royal Artillery Brigadier Staff Kayed Al-Dhaisat and the region's artillery commander Brigadier Akram Al-Ghazw.The commander of the Artillery Corps said: "We celebrate the occasions of the foundation of the First Royal Artillery Battalion (75 years), as well as the artillery of the Eastern Military Region (50 years), indicating that it was the responsibility of the 1st Artillery Battalion to provide the Arab Army with fire support in the battles of Bab al-Wad and AL-Latrun in defense of Palestine. And in the battle of eternal ALKaramah, the first artillery battalion like all other artillery units on the hills and above the mountains lies side by side with the corps of the Jordan armed forces to push the enemies away from the borders of Jordan with determination and power.The commander of the artillery of the eastern region said: “Historical moments filled with the fragrance of the past were fulfilled by pure blood, and the arms of the heroes of our Arab army drew the roadmap for the future to preserve our homeland with a wise Hashemite leadership. Today, we are completing the preparation and training process. The artillery of the Eastern Military Region and its units implemented the training plan for this year, and all of its units participated in the exercises that were carried out in the fields of honor.And retired Major General Shabib Abu Wendy said in a speech on behalf of the military retirees: "I am honored and pleased to stand before you on the occasion of the golden jubilee of the foundation of the artillery of the valiant Royal Fifth Armored Division, the artillery of the Eastern Military Region now, as well as the 75th anniversary of the foundation of the First Artillery Battalion. We are all proud of this long-standing battalion and its great history among the units of the Royal Artillery Corps. I had the honor to lead this corps for more than two years.”The celebration, which began with the Jordanian anthem and verses from the Holy Quran, included a representative scene that embodied the role of the heroes of the 1st artillery battalion in defending Palestine, musical and patriotic performances presented by the music of the armed forces, poems, in addition to a photo exhibition that showed the history of the units that were affiliated with artillery. The celebration also included exercises, folk dances, and patriotic songs through which the members of the region expressed their deep love and loyalty to the wise Hashemite leadership, praying to God Almighty to preserve His Majesty, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, King Abdullah II, and his trusted Crown Prince, Prince Al Hussein.At the end of the ceremony, which was attended by Interior Minister Mazen Al-Faraya and several senior officers of the armed forces, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff met several retired militaries who had the honor of commanding the artillery of the Eastern Military Region and the First Royal Artillery Battalion.
