Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Hunaiti, visited the Fifth Royal Border Guard Battalion, one of the units of the Eastern Military Zone, today, Wednesday, and was received by its commander. Major General Al-Hunaiti, in the presence of several senior officers of the Jordan Armed Forces, inspected the Nashma border fence that is being built along the eastern border of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, which contributes to confronting attempts at infiltration and smuggling weapons and narcotics, stressing that the Nashma of the Armed Forces bear the responsibility of defending the homeland, no matter the sacrifices it costs them. The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff was briefed on the zone's efforts to confront various infiltration and smuggling operations, which include the use of drones and vehicles prepared and equipped for smuggling operations, in addition to the progress of operational and logistical matters in the zone's formations and units, which enhances their ability to carry out their tasks and duties efficiently and effectively. Major General Huneiti toured the Zone’s front and inspected the readiness of the Border Guards and the qualitative forces that support them in their security duty, lauding their efforts, especially those related to coordination between various security and military agencies to counter and prevent infiltration and smuggling attempts. He also recalled the martyrs of the Arab Army from the Border Guard Forces who gave their lives in defense of their homeland. The Army Chief also met with the Battalion's Officers and conveyed to them the greetings and pride of His Majesty the Supreme Commander, commending their outstanding level and high morale and their great efforts in various locations to stand united in the face of all those who try to tamper with the security and stability of the homeland with strength and firmness.
