His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, on Monday attended a military exercise conducted by the Royal Field Air Defense Directorate. 

His Majesty, accompanied by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, was briefed by Air Defense Director Brig. Gen. Suleiman Al Hamaideh on the readiness of the directorate’s units, as well as plans to upgrade their arms and equipment. 

The exercise included simulation of a defensive battle, dealing with various aerial targets and intercepting drones, with the participation of command, control, and early warning units.

The King viewed an arms exhibition showcasing the devices, equipment, and ammunition used by the Royal Air Defense units.

His Majesty commended the proficiency of the units participating in the exercise, emphasizing the importance of continued modernization and development to enhance readiness. 

Since the beginning of 2024, Royal Air Defense units have intercepted more than 1,580 drones in conjunction with Border Guard forces.
