On Monday, His Majesty King Abdullah II, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, met with a group of military pensioners at the Northern region Officers' Club for ex and on-the-job military personnel located in Irbid governorate. His Majesty expressed his pride in the army companions and his presence among them, stressing the importance of continuing to benefit from the accumulated experience of military retirees over the years and a persistent tender. His Majesty stressed the importance of the military retirees’ role in our homeland affairs and called for further efforts to combat the scourges facing our society, in particular the scourge of drugs. The attendees valued the meetings that His Majesty holds on an ongoing basis with military retirees, listening to their views and fulfilling their needs, expressing their gratitude for the participatory approach led by His Majesty for the benefit of the country. They affirmed that they will maintain the covenant loyal to the homeland, the Hashemite leadership, and the auxiliary army of the Jordanian armed forces - the Arab army and the security services.The meeting was attended by Chief of the Royal Hashemite Court Youssef Hassan Al-Issawi, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Hunaiti, Director of Public Security Major General Obaidullah Al-Maaytah, and Director-General of the Economic & Social Association of Retired Servicemen & Veterans, Major General retired Dr. Ismail Al-Shobaki.
