His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and King Philippe of Belgium attended today, June 13, 2023, the joint military exercise "AGILE APEX", at the King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Center "KASOTC", which was implemented by the King Abdullah II Operations Group and the Special and Rapid Intervention Battalion with the Belgian Special Forces. Their Majesties were received by the Director General of the Center and Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Hnaity, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. A briefing on the exercise, which was carried out to simulate combat operations in built-up areas to combat terrorism and close engagement, was presented to their Majesties and the audience. Combat rescue, hostage release, battling in densely populated areas, depredation, close combat, and counterterrorism tasks were all included in the joint exercise. Participants accomplished the activity with accuracy and outstanding proficiency. Through training in coordinating ground and air fire in cases of close engagement as well as planning and decision-making procedures, the exercise aimed to strengthen the bonds of bilateral military relations between the two friendly countries. It also aimed to improve coordination between the forces participating in the exercise. Then King Philip toured the five sections that constituted the arms exhibition and listened to an in-depth description of the equipment, gear, and ammunition that were employed in the exercise.
